As a member of Veteran Jobs Mission, we have joined other top companies in a pledge to hire more U.S. military veterans. Over the years, our contributions to military and veteran causes have included donations of time and resources to groups including the USO, Operation Gratitude and The Mission Continues.
Target proudly serves as a supporter of Blue Star Families' Welcome Week, a week dedicated to welcoming families into their new communities. Blue Star Families is the nation's largest nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting military and veteran families in the communities where they live.
The Welcome Week is important to help families transition to their new communities which prevents feelings of isolation. The Military Business Council (MBC) is one of eight Diversity and Inclusion Business Councils at Target. MBC supports our inclusive culture by providing resources and support to team members with a connection to our nation's military, and helps us identify opportunities to better serve job candidates, team members and guests with military connections.
The MBC's mission is to create a compelling and engaging community for team members to come together and support those who have served or are serving, including family, friends and allies. Every November, Americans commemorate Veterans Day as a way to say thanks to those who have served — or continue to serve — our country.
Military Business Council
Each year, we proudly extend a 10% military appreciation discount to all U.S. active-duty military personnel, veterans and their families to use in stores or online in early November. Outside of Veterans Day, Target also makes the discount available in July to celebrate Independence Day.
We continue the celebration year-round by sharing team member stories of veterans and service members who bring their unique talents to Target every day. Action Target shoot houses provide specialized training equipment for those who serve and protect.
